Player Season Stats

Born and raised in Dublin, centre-forward Troy Parrott is a Republic of Ireland international with a keen eye for goal.

He spent the 2021/22 season on loan at League One side MK Dons, where he scored 10 goals in 47 appearances across all competitions.

He spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan at Preston North End in the Championship, scoring four goals in 34 appearances in all competitions, before joining Dutch Eredivisie side Excelsior Rotterdam on loan for the 2023/24 season in August, 2023.

A former pupil at O’Connell School, Troy featured three times for our Under-18s towards the end of 2017/18 and top-scored with 10 goals at the Under-17 Borgaro Maggioni Righi tournament in Italy.

He made great progress in 2018/19 in spite of a couple of spells out injured, scoring 14 goals in nine Under-18 Premier League outings as we finished second in the table. He also scored one in one in the Under-18 Premier League Cup and played twice in the FA Youth Cup against Millwall and Arsenal. In the Under-19 UEFA Youth League, Troy bagged three goals in five appearances, while he stepped up to play twice for the Development Squad against senior Football League sides in the EFL Trophy. He also led the line for the Under-23s on 10 occasions in the Premier League 2, scoring his first two goals at that level to give us a crucial 2-1 victory at Swansea City in April, 2019 - a result that contributed to us avoiding relegation from that division at the end of the campaign.

Having trained and travelled with our first team on a handful of occasions in 2018/19, he made his senior bow during our tour of Asia in July, 2019. He subsequently made his competitive first team debut from the start in a Carabao Cup third round tie at Colchester United in September, 2019.

In November, 2019, he appeared in a Premier League matchday squad for the first time when he was named on the bench in a 1-1 draw at Everton. Later that month, he made his senior international debut for the Republic of Ireland, starting and claiming an assist in a 3-1 friendly win over New Zealand in Dublin.

He subsequently became top scorer in the UEFA Youth League for 2019/20 when he scored his sixth goal of the group stage campaign for us at home to Olympiacos, having also netted in the away fixure against the Greek side and bagged four in one game at home to Crvena zvezda in a Club record 9-2 victory. He made four appearances in that competition that season overall.

In December, 2019, he came off the bench for his Premier League debut in a 5-0 win at home to Burnley and by the end of the 2019/20 season had made four senior competitive appearances for us. He also scored three goals in two Development Squad appearances and scored twice in an FA Youth Cup win over Liverpool.

In August, 2020, Troy joined Championship side Millwall on loan, making 14 appearances during the first half of the 2020/21 season.

In February, 2021, he joined League One side Ipswich Town on loan for the remainder of that campaign, scoring twice in 18 appearances.

In addition to featuring on the senior international stage, Troy has represented Republic of Ireland at youth level - he played at the 2018 European Under-17 Championship, scoring three goals in four games, while he notably scored a hat-trick against the Faroe Islands in a European Under-19 Championship qualifier in October, 2018.
