Born: 13 July 1997 (London, England)
Left-footed striker Shayon Harrison has come up through our Academy set-up and has picked up some experience of senior football over the last couple of seasons. On 1 February, 2019, it was confirmed that he had joined Melbourne City on loan until the end of the Australian A-League season in May.
He ended 2017-18 with 13 appearances for League One side Southend United under his belt, having linked up with them on loan in January, 2018.
Prior to that, the striker scored three goals in eight Premier League 2 appearances for our Under-23s, played two games in the Premier League International Cup and scored on his solitary Checkatrade Trophy appearance for us against Barnet's senior side in November, 2017. During pre-season in 2017, he'd scored in every game to help our Development Squad win the European Under-21 Tournament in Ploufragan, France.
Born in Hornsey, Shayon enjoyed a successful first campaign for our Under-18s in 2013-14, finding the target 12 times in 22 league appearances and scoring four goals against Chelsea in a 7-2 win in April, 2014. He also played twice in the FA Youth Cup that season.
The 2014-15 campaign saw him lay down a marker as top scorer for our Under-18s with 15 goals in 18 games - including a memorable hat-trick in a 4-1 win against Arsenal and another four-goal haul against Chelsea in March, 2015. He started all six of our FA Youth Cup matches during that season, scoring twice at Stamford Bridge as we lost out in the semi-final second leg against the Blues. He finished that campaign playing regularly in the league for our Under-21s, making seven appearances at that level in all and scoring in a 2-0 home win against Fulham at White Hart Lane in May, 2015.
Shayon scored nine goals in 13 league appearances for our Under-21s in 2015-16, including a sparkling hat-trick in a 3-1 win over Sunderland at the Lane in April, 2016. He also scored twice in three Premier League Under-21 International Cup appearances and was afforded a golden chance to accompany our first team squad for a couple of Europa League matchdays during that period.
He played for our first team in pre-season of 2016, scoring in a 6-1 victory over Inter Milan in Norway, before making his senior competitive debut as a second-half substitute against Liverpool in an EFL Cup fourth round tie in October, 2016.
He scored seven goals in 13 appearances for our young side in the Premier League 2, in addition to netting twice in five matches as we ventured into the Under-19 UEFA Youth League - the fixures mirroring those of the first team in the Champions League - in the opening months of that season before joining Yeovil Town on loan in January, 2017, where he made 14 appearances in League Two, scoring in a memorable 3-3 draw away at Exeter City in March, 2017, in addition to playing once in the Checkatrade Trophy.
