Born: 05 September 2000 (London, England)

Rodel Richards

Born and raised in Lewisham, striker Rodel 'RJ' Richards popped up with some key goals at Under-18 and Under-19 levels in 2018/19, despite missing the bulk of the second half of the season through injury.

In total, he netted five goals in eight Under-18 Premier League appearances to aid our youngsters' title challenge - we finished second in the end - while he also scored an extra-time winner on his solitary FA Youth Cup outing at Millwall and bagged once in three Under-18 Premier League Cup appearances.

In the Under-19 UEFA Youth League, he scored at home and away to Barcelona to help us through the group stage, including a late second goal in Spain just seconds after coming off the bench, making five appearances in total, while he also stepped up to play six times for the Development Squad - four Premier League 2 appearances and two games in the EFL Trophy against senior sides Gillingham and Portsmouth. A leg injury sustained in an Under-18 game at Brighton in January, 2019, led to him being sidelined for over three minutes, but he returned to score twice in a 4-3 final-day defeat at home to Leicester.

A real predator in the box, RJ was previously with Arsenal and attended Prendergast Vale College.

He scored two hat-tricks in 10 days in different cup competitions for our Under-18s in December, 2017, and finished the 2017/18 campaign with 15 goals in all competitions at that level to his name - seven in the league, five in the Under-18 Premier League Cup and three in the FA Youth Cup over a combined 27 appearances.

He also scored on his solitary substitute appearance in the UEFA Youth League - a 4-1 home triumph against APOEL in December, 2017.

RJ previously enjoyed a good season with our Under-16s in 2016/17, netting 27 times, while he also stepped up for his Under-18s debut as a substitute in a defeat to Aston Villa in February, 2017.
