Born: 09 November 1998 (London, England)
Lively forward Kazaiah Sterling has been a regular goal-getter at different levels in recent years.
Sidelined with injury in the opening weeks of the 2018/19 season, he returned to score four goals in seven Premier League 2 games for our Under-23s, one goal in a solitary Premier League International Cup appearance and played twice more for the Development Squad against senior sides Portsmouth and Oxford United in the EFL Trophy. In January, 2019, in addition to being named Premier League 2 Player of the Month, he was an unused substitute in our Premier League win at Fulham and featured as a substitute in an FA Cup tie at Crystal Palace a week later - his second senior competitive appearance for us. He then linked up with Sunderland on loan for the second half of that campaign, playing eight times in League One, scoring once in a 3-0 win at Accrington Stanley.
In August, 2019, he joined League One side Doncaster Rovers but suffered from injury problems and was restricted to only four appearances in all competitions, returning to Spurs in January, 2020.
On 31 January, 2020, he joined League Two side Leyton Orient on loan until the end of the season.
North London born and bred, Kazaiah attended Winchmore School in Enfield and previously played for Leyton Orient.
A regular for our Under-16s in 2014/15, he featured regularly for the Under-18s as well. His debut came as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa in October, 2014, and he would go on to make 14 appearances including 11 starts. He netted three times in the league, while also scoring in our FA Youth Cup semi-final, first leg against Chelsea.
He then scored eight goals in 21 league appearances for our Under-18s in 2015/16. He also played in both of our FA Youth Cup games during that season, scoring in a 4-0 win over Rotherham in the third round, and played three times for our Under-21s. His first goal at that level came in a memorable 7-4 home win over Leicester in September, 2015.
After missing the first couple of months of 2016/17 through injury, he came back to score five goals in 17 appearances in the Under-18 Premier League, seven in six in the FA Youth Cup - including a hat-trick against Stevenage - and one in four in the UEFA Youth League. A stand-out performer as our Academy won the IMG Cup in Florida in December, 2016, where he scored in the final, he netted twice in three Premier League 2 games in the latter months of the campaign and signed off from Under-18s football in May, 2017, by doing what he does best - providing a clinical finish to equalise late in a thrilling 3-3 draw away to Derby County. He subsequently scored for the first team in a post-season friendly win over Kitchee SC in Hong Kong in May, 2017.
Working hard in our Development Squad, Kazaiah was our top scorer in the Premier League 2 in 2017/18 with eight goals in his 20 appearances, while he also scored once in three games in the EFL Trophy and twice in three Premier League International Cup appearances. He scored three goals in six starts in the Under-19 UEFA Youth League too as we reached the quarter-final stage. At senior level, he stepped up for his competitive first team debut in a 3-0 UEFA Champions League win over APOEL at Wembley in December, 2017, and was drafted in as a late replacement for fellow striker Fernando Llorente to sit on the bench in the Premier League for the first time in a 3-1 home defeat by Manchester City in April, 2018.
At international level, he has represented England’s Under-17s and Under-18s.
