Born: 11 March 2002 (London, England)
An Edmonton-born centre-half who plays off his right foot, Malachi Fagan-Walcott was brought up in Waltham Abbey and attended Debden Park High School, where he won the Essex Cup and a swimming gala.
On 10 March, 2020, he came on as a late substitute for his first team debut in the second leg of our Champions League, round of 16 tie away to RB Leipzig.
In January, 2021, having recently returned to action for our Development Squad following an injury that kept him out for the first half of the 2020/21 campaign, he joined Scottish Championship side Dundee FC on loan for the remainder of the season.
A district 200m sprint champion, he stepped up to make his first two appearances for our Under-18s in 2017/18 before becoming a regular at that level in 2018/19, playing 15 times as we finished second in the Under-18 Premier League. That total includes a start in the first ever football match played at our new stadium as our youngsters beat their counterparts from Southampton 3-1 in a Test Event match there in March, 2019. Malachi also made one appearance apiece in the FA Youth Cup and Under-18 Premier League Cup, while helping our Under-17s lift the Euro Youth Cup in St Wendel, Germany, in September, 2018.
Malachi stepped up to play twice for the Development Squad during that same season - once against Crawley Town's senior side in the EFL Trophy and then featuring as a late substitute in a 2-1 Premier League 2 victory at Leicester City.
Perhaps his most memorable moment arrived in the UEFA Youth League, when he got forward to score the opening goal in a 2-0 home win over PSV Under-19s in November, 2018, in one of three appearances he made in that competition.
On the international scene, Malachi has played for England at Under-15, Under-16 and Under-17 levels.
