Born: 09 July 2001 (Middlesex, England)
A local lad, born in North Middlesex Hospital and brought up in Tottenham, midfielder Jamie Bowden attended the Holy Family Catholic School in Walthamstow.
He gained experience at a number of different levels in 2018/19, making his senior debut in a first team pre-season friendly match away to Girona in August, 2018, and subsequently travelling with the first team squad on a couple of occasions throughout the campaign, notably in October, 2018, for our Carabao Cup fourth round win at West Ham and then in April, 2019, when we edged through in the second leg of our Champions League quarter-final epic at Manchester City.
He made nine appearances for our Under-18s over the course of that season, played four times in the UEFA Youth League and made 12 starts for our Development Squad, including four in the EFL Trophy.
He subsequently travelled on our first team pre-season tour to Asia in July, 2019, and in October, 2019, was called up to the Republic of Ireland’s youth set-up for the first time, joining their Under-19s.
In total, Jamie made 10 appearances for our Development Squad in all competitions during the truncated 2019/20 season, many of them as captain, and memorably scored a hat-trick in a 4-0 home win over Liverpool in the Premier League 2 in December, 2019. He also captained our UEFA Youth League side in all six games in that competition during that campaign, under the stewardship of Ryan Mason.
He missed the bulk of the first half of the 2020/21 season through injury but returned to the fray with our Under-23s and subsequently made his first appearance in a senior competitive matchday squad as an unused substitute in a Europa League round of 32, first leg match against Wolfsberger AC in February, 2021.
In August, 2021, he joined Oldham Athletic on loan, making 25 appearances and scoring once in all competitions during the first half of the 2021/22 season before returning to Spurs in January, 2022.
A deep-lying central midfielder with a great range of passing, Jamie joined the Club at the age of six.
He featured four times for our Under-18s in 2016/17, making his debut as a substitute against Fulham in February, 2017. He started the other three matches and has also played for England at Under-16 and Under-15 levels.
His first goal for our Under-18s came in a 4-0 home win over Norwich City on the opening day of the 2017/18 campaign. He showed his versatility by filling in at centre-half on a handful of occasions throughout that season, playing 25 times for the Under-18s across all competitions and making two substitute appearances in the UEFA Youth League.
He was also selected as 'Midfielder of the Tournament' at the Under-17 Borgaro Maggioni Righi tournament in Italy over the Easter weekend in 2018, as we beat a host of European youth sides including Juventus.
