The box-to-box midfielder is an academy graduate and can use her physicality to win back possession or retain the ball, she is comfortable with the ball at her feet and can certainly make use of it when she has it. Her excellent reading of the game and position sense allow her to protect the back line expertly.

“You’ll get lots of different opinions and advice in football, but the best (piece of advice) would be to never give up.”

Get to know Sophie...

Q: What started your passion for football?

A: My brother is only a year older than me so I use to go to every one of his training sessions and tried to join in. My mum then decided to let me join Tufnell park, starting with the boys team and later joining the girls.

Q: Most memorable memory associated with Spurs Ladies so far?

A: It has to be winning the league at White Hart Lane! It was an all round amazing experience, but beating your old club to win the league makes it that little sweeter.

Q: Other than football, which sport is your favourite/you are best at?

A: I'd probably choose basketball if I had to play another sport, but if it was favourite to watch I would have to go with rugby.

Q: Who was your role model growing up as a child and in present day?

A: Growing up I always looked up to Faye White, but all in all it would have be David Beckham.
