Maya has been at the Club since appearing for the U10’s in 2006. Hard in the challenge with an eye for a pass, the energy driven central midfielder has progressed into a vital player in big game situations.
Q: What started your passion for football?
A: When I was young my dad used to take me and my twin brother to the park every week to play football. I continued to play at break times at Primary school, I then joined Spurs Ladies Under 10s and have enjoyed playing for Spurs Ladies ever since.
Q: Most memorable memory associated with Spurs Ladies so far?
A: The most memorable memory would have to be scoring the winning goal in the 120th minute of extra time in the National Premier League cup of the 2015/2016 season. But the moment we got promoted to the FA WSL 2 and all the celebrations afterwards is also up there!
Q: Other than football, which sport is your favourite/you are best at?
A: I did quite a lot of track running in school and represented the county at 800m - so athletics would be the answer.
Q: Who was your role model growing up as a child and in present day?
A: My role model growing up was Thierry Henry as I was a striker in my youth up until playing for the senior team. Henry was so clinical in front of goal so I looked up to him. Currently my role model is Kim Little as I admire her play in the central midfield area and all the combinations she does.
