Player Season Stats

Joe Rodon joined us from Swansea City in October, 2020.

A strong, cultured centre-half, Joe played 10 times for us in all competitions in 2021/22 and helped Wales reach the World Cup for the first time since 1958 by beating Ukraine in a play-off in June. He subsequently featured heavily for his country at the tournament in Qatar during the winter.

At the end of 2021/22 season, he was up to 24 appearances for us in all competitions.

In August, 2022, Joe joined French side Rennes on loan for the 2022/23 campaign, where he made 22 appearances and scored his first professional goal.

In August, 2023, he joined Championship side Leeds United on loan for the 2023/24 season.

Born in Llangyfelach, a village just outside Swansea, the Welsh international central defender progressed through the youth ranks to become a key member of the first team at the Liberty Stadium.

He made his debut in the third game of the 2018/19 Championship campaign against Preston on 17 August, 2018, and went on to make 28 appearances that term.

He followed up with 21 appearances during the 2019/20 season and earned his first cap for Wales in a 2-1 victory against Azerbaijan in European Championship qualifying on 6 September, 2019. He then featured five times for Swansea at the beginning of the 2020/21 season before completing his move to north London.

He helped us keep a clean sheet on his full debut at Stamford Bridge in November, 2020, and went on to make 14 appearances in all competitions in his first season. That included eight starts in the Premier League.

Joe was part of the Welsh squad at Euro 2020, playing every game as, like in Euro 2016, they progressed into the knockout stage of the European Championships, this time bowing out in the last 16. He then played a huge part as the Dragons made it to the World Cup for the first time since 1958, beating Ukraine in a play-off in June to secure a place at Qatar, 2022.
