Michel Vorm

Player Season Stats

Dutch international goalkeeper Michel Vorm joined us from Swansea City in July, 2014, and has proved to be a valuable member of the squad, both on and off the pitch.

A reliable deputy to Hugo Lloris throughout his time at the club, Michel made one Premier League appearance in 2017-18 but was a regular face in the side in the cup competitions, playing all seven games in our run to the FA Cup semi-finals, twice in the Carabao Cup and once in the Champions League, his appearance in a 3-0 home win over APOEL representing his debut in the latter competition. Michel also took on responsibilities as team captain five times throughout that campaign.

Formerly with Utrecht and Den Bosch in Holland, Michel joined Swansea in August, 2011, and firmly established himself as first choice in their debut season in the Premier League, which saw him pick up Supporters' Player, Players' Player and the Away Player of the Year accolades at their end-of-season awards.

In total, he made 97 appearances for Swansea and was also part of the Netherlands' FIFA World Cup squad that reached the semi-finals and eventually finished third in Brazil in the summer of 2014.

The 2014-15 season was his first at Spurs and when Hugo picked up an injury against Leicester City in March, 2015, he went on to start our next three Premier League matches. He played 14 times that season in total, including five matches in our run to the League Cup Final.

He started our first match of the 2015-16 season away at Manchester United and went on to make seven appearances throughout the rest of that campaign - the latter six all coming in the cup competitions.

On the opening day of the 2016-17 season, Michel was called into action when Hugo went down with a hamstring injury and produced excellent performances from the start in our subsequent Premier League home games against Crystal Palace and Liverpool.

A knee problem kept him out for a few weeks in April, 2017, but he returned before the end of the campaign and finished that season with 11 appearances to his name in all competitions.
