Experienced Spanish international striker Fernando Llorente arrived from Swansea City in August, 2017.

His first goal in our colours came in a 3-0 UEFA Champions League home win over APOEL on December 6, 2017, while he memorably netted a hat-trick in the snow in a dramatic 6-1 FA Cup fifth round replay victory against Rochdale a couple of months later. He also scored against former club Swansea in the Premier League at the start of January, 2018, and made 31 appearances in all competitions throughout 2017-18.

Fernando had joined Swansea from Spanish side Sevilla in August, 2016, and scored 15 goals in 33 Premier League appearances in 2016-17.

A product of Athletic Bilbao’s academy, he scored 111 goals in 327 games at the Basque club before he joined Juventus in July, 2013, where he netted 27 times in 92 appearances.

Fernando was a key part of two Serie A and one Italian Cup-winning sides at Juventus and won the 2016 Europa League with Sevilla.

He has represented Spain on 24 occasions, scoring seven goals, and was a member of the 2010 World Cup-winning squad.
