Player Season Stats

Argentine international attacking midfielder Erik Lamela joined us from AS Roma in August, 2013.

After more than a year out with hip problems, he marked his return to action with an assist away at Leicester City in November, 2017, and then scored in the Premier League for the first time since the opening day of the previous season with a brace against the Foxes in a 5-4 thriller on the final day of 2017-18.

In all, he made 33 appearances during that latter season, adding a further two goals in our run to the FA Cup semi-finals.

Born in Buenos Aires, Erik progressed through the ranks at River Plate in Argentina and went on to make 40 appearances before joining Roma in 2011, where he made 67 appearances in all competitions and scored 21 goals.

For me, this is just the beginning!

Erik Lamela celebrating

He was restricted to 17 appearances in all competitions in his debut season at Spurs, 2013-14, and a back injury ended his campaign in December.

He responded with 46 appearances in 2014-15 and scored five goals - including one of the moments of the season with his spectacular 'Rabona' goal against Asteras Tripolis in the Europa League in October, 2014.

Erik enjoyed a tremendous 2015-16 campaign, establishing himself in our starting XI on a regular basis with a string of committed displays. He scored 11 goals during that season - five in the Premier League and six in the Europa League - including his first hat-trick in a 4-1 home win over Monaco in December, 2015, and finished the season having made 44 appearances in all competitions.

He scored our first goal of the 2016-17 season as we drew 1-1 at Everton on the opening day, but sadly a hip problem ruled him out for an extended period, meaning he only managed 14 appearances for us that campaign. His only other goal of the season came in a 5-0 home win over Gillingham in the EFL Cup.

Capped four times by Argentina at Under-20 level, he made his full international debut in May, 2011, against Paraguay. He was named in the Argentina squad for back-to-back Copa Americas in June, 2015, and June, 2016.
