One Hotspur Junior member Oliver Edwards won the unique chance to take on Steven Bergwijn in a game of FIFA 21 last week.
Our latest One Hotspur Moment saw competition winner, Oliver, get the opportunity to virtually meet and chat with Steven, before facing him in a head-to-head clash on EA Sports’ latest instalment of its world-renowned video game series, FIFA.
Choosing to play as their native countries, Oliver selecting England and Steven choosing the Netherlands, it was a closely fought contest between the pair but, in the end, our Dutch winger just edged it, triumphing 3-2. Yet, while the match didn’t go his way, 13-year-old Oliver, who also received a signed copy of FIFA 21 from Steven as part of the prize, admits it was still a great day.
“Thank you so much One Hotspur and Steven for a great surprise,” Oliver said. “I suggested we played Holland V England and although he did win 3-2, I still had a great time.
“Bergwijn’s FIFA 21 character scored 2 of the goals, including a penalty, and even did his trademark goal celebration. We had a chat during the game, and I wished him good luck for the game against Chelsea."
