Harry exclusive: “As always, it’s onto the next one”

Tue 10 November 2020, 14:15|Tottenham Hotspur

One day, Harry Kane will sit down and reflect on all the milestones and achievements in his career. That time is not now.

He’s racked up another three key landmarks this week - 200 goals and 300 appearances for the Club and the latest, 150 goals in the Premier League. He’s only the 10th player to reach 150 goals in Premier League history, going back to the league’s inaugural season in 1992/93.

He’s also only the third player to score 150 league goals for Spurs - behind Jimmy Greaves (220) and Bobby Smith (176) going back to our first league campaign in the old Division Two back in 1908/09.

That’s just this week...

“150 Premier League goals is a special achievement but as we always say, it’s onto the next one,” Harry told us exclusively after his dramatic late winner at The Hawthorns.

“The most important thing was the win, we got that, so let’s keep them coming. We’ve got to keep going, hopefully I’ll keep scoring and we’ll go from there.”

And that’s typical Harry, onto the next one - which is likely to include another milestone as the England captain joins the Three Lions this week sitting on 49 caps.

Back to Sunday though, and there was certainly a nod to the defence as a second clean sheet on the trot on the road secured a second-successive, hard-earned 1-0 away win. Indeed, no-one has conceded fewer than our nine goals in eight Premier League matches so far in 2020/21.

“It was another tough game, West Brom made it hard for us,” reflected Harry. “I thought we played better in the second half, created a few more chances and we had to keep going, persistence paid off in the end.

“It was great to get the goal, and another great clean sheet away from home, fantastic from the defence. West Brom didn’t create too many chances, but we looked solid throughout. It was a massive win.”
