Steven Bergwijn is loving every minute in north London.
Now a month into his Spurs career, the forward has swiftly got to grips with life in a new city, with a new club and in a new league.
He is living his dream of playing in the Premier League, learning with every appearance he makes and with the next of those likely to be on Sunday as we return home to N17 to take on Wolves (2pm kick-off), he "can’t wait" to get back out there.
And, keen to know what to expect from the West Midlands outfit, Steven spoke to his good friend and compatriot Michel Vorm about what sort of challenge our visitors may pose.
They have a good team so I can’t wait to take them on and see how strong they are.
“I spoke to Michel about Wolves. He said he thinks they are one of the toughest teams in the league,” our number 23 explained. “They have a good team so I can’t wait to take them on and see how strong they are.
“I know if we play well though and do our thing, we can get the win. We have a good team, so I have a good feeling. At home as well, we have to do our thing with the help of the fans.”
Since the 22-year-old joined us in January from PSV Eindhoven, not only have we seen just how sweetly he can strike the ball as he did in some style in our 2-0 win against Manchester City on his debut, but we have also seen how fluid he is in his movement.
In games, Steven usually occupies the left flank, yet he is just as happy to play through the middle or on the right, wherever there is space to move into – he knows how effective that freedom can be.
“When I played at PSV it wasn’t a case of staying on the left, in the middle or on the right,” the Dutch international said. “The front three played wherever they felt comfortable.
“It makes it difficult for defenders as well if they are having to deal with a different attacker every 10 minutes.”
