Ben Davies describes it as a ‘potentially season-defining week’ - but he isn’t looking beyond Villa on Sunday.

Our first visit to Villa Park since 2016 kick starts three vital matches in six days – the Champions League returns on Wednesday night with our Round of 16, first leg at home to RB Leipzig (8pm) and we then travel to Stamford Bridge and Chelsea in the Premier League next Saturday (22 February, 12.30pm).

Back in full training after 10 weeks out, Ben said: “We’re in a good place. The start of the season was tough, we know that, but we’ve given ourselves an opportunity to finish in the top four and we’re still in two big cup competitions in the Champions League and the FA Cup.

We’ve a key run of matches coming up and we’ll need to be 100 per cent ready for them

“We’re looking for a big finish to the season and this is a huge week, one of those potentially season-defining weeks, so we have to put our best foot forward and make sure we get the job done.

“That starts at Villa. They are fighting for everything and for them, every point is vital. We know they are going to come out fully at it and that’s where it starts.

“They are a good side, Dean Smith’s got them well organised but as far as we’re concerned, it’s all about us and getting those three points. We have to be aware of what they are going to do, and we have to win this game.”
