Hugo Lloris has spoken about the impact of Interim Head Coach Ryan Mason on the team ahead of this evening’s clash with Southampton (6pm kick-off).

Our former player Ryan, who graduated from our Academy before going on to make 70 appearances for us between 2008 and 2016, has only been in charge of the team since Monday, yet Hugo admits his former team-mate has already made his message clear to the squad as we look to return to winning ways against the Saints.

“It is not an easy time, but Ryan has tried to give some instructions, tried to give a shape and a structure to the team,” he explained. “In the short time, we have tried to prepare as well as we could, but the message has been clear, and it is now about the players delivering the performance.

“We have to play with freedom. Try to build confidence again. It has been a tough season with a lot of ups and downs, but we still have the ambition to finish as high as we can and that starts today. Obviously, a win could boost, a little bit, the team’s confidence, but there is a lot to do on the pitch.”
