App exclusive: The game in numbers - Chelsea 0-0 Spurs

Mon 30 November 2020, 15:21|Tottenham Hotspur

It was another battle for us at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon as we locked horns with capital rivals Chelsea once more in the Premier League, earning a 0-0 draw.

It was a game of very few clear-cut chances with only four shots on target in the 90 minutes - just one of those coming from inside the box. Yet, it was another solid showing from us in the league and another important point picked up as it sent us back to the top of the table.

Here’s a look at the key statistics and numbers behind the game...

Away day delights

5 - After five games away from home so far this season, we are still unbeaten in the Premier League (W4 D1) - our best start to a campaign on the road since 2016/17 when we went undefeated in our first six away games (W2 D4).

13 - This is our best-ever start to a Premier League season away from home having picked up 13 points out of the first 15 available on the road.

Defensive desire

3 - Eric Dier and Serge Aurier were successful in 100% their aerial duels having attempted three each.

3 - We have now kept three successive away clean sheets in the Premier League for the first time since September-November 2013.

8 - It was our first clean sheet at Stamford Bridge in more than eight years. We last recorded one at Chelsea in March, 2012 - also a 0-0 draw.

4 - It was Hugo Lloris' fourth clean sheet in his last five Premier League games. He is now just four clean sheets away from reaching the landmark of 100 shut-outs in England’s top flight.

47 - Only Newcastle’s Federico Fernandez (51) has made more clearances than Eric Dier (47) in the Premier League this season.

Player in focus - Joe Rodon

0 - Joe Rodon was the only member of our backline not to be dribbled past by a Chelsea player in the game.

5 - Joe made five clearances, more than any other player on the pitch.

3 - He also made three interceptions, more than any other Spurs player.

Riding high

9 - Today (Monday 30 November) is our ninth day at the top of the Premier League table so far this season. In our past 10 campaigns combined, we had only managed six days at the summit.

21 - We have picked up 21 points from our first 10 Premier League games, which is just one short of our record haul in the competition at this stage of a season - we picked up 22 points after 10 games in the 2011/12 campaign.

9 - We are now unbeaten in nine games in the Premier League - our longest such run in the competition since going 14 without defeat between December, 2017 and April, 2018.

9 - Our nine games unbeaten is also the longest current run without defeat in the Premier League this season.

5 - We have now gone five Premier League games unbeaten against the ‘big six’ since our 1-1 draw with Manchester United in June, earlier this year - that is our best such spell against those sides since a run of 12 games between September, 2015 and November, 2016.

6 - We have now gone six games unbeaten in London derbies in all competitions. Our best spell in such fixtures since a run of nine between January and November, 2018.

Other notable numbers

6 - Tanguy Ndombele completed six take-ons in the game - double any other player on the pitch. In his last two outings he has completed 11 take-ons in total - more than in his seven previous games combined.

6 - It was the first game since 27 September (1-1 draw with Newcastle United) where neither Heung-Min Son or Harry Kane scored a Premier League goal for us, ending a run of six games.

51 - Lucas Moura made his 51st appearance for us under Jose Mourinho in what was our Head Coach’s 53rd match of his tenure so far.
