Internationals – point for Perisic in Croatia’s World Cup opener

Ivan Perisic featured from the start as Croatia began their World Cup campaign with a goalless draw with Morocco on Wednesday morning.

Finalists in 2018, Croatia had hoped to get off the mark early in Al Khor, but were forced to settle for a share of the spoils in Group F.

Ivan started the game in a left-sided attacking role and fired just over the bar from distance in the first half.

He switched to the right side during the latter stages of the second period before being substituted in the last minute of normal time.

Rodrigo Bentancur and Heung-Min Son are next up in terms of our players involved at the tournament – they’ll face each other when Uruguay meet South Korea in Group H at 1pm UK time on Thursday, with Richarlison’s Brazil then set for action against Serbia in Group G at 7pm UK.
