Ivan Perisic provided another assist to help Croatia beat Morocco 2-1 in Saturday’s World Cup third place play-off.
Keeping up his record of starting every game at this year’s tournament, Ivan cleverly flicked a header from a free-kick back into the middle of the box for Josko Gvardiol to open the scoring inside seven minutes at the Khalifa International Stadium in Al Rayyan.
Morocco quickly levelled through Achraf Dari, but Mislav Orsic fired home off the post three minutes before half-time to give Croatia the victory.

Ivan’s assist was his third of the tournament and amounted to his 11th goal involvement across the last three World Cups – only Argentina’s Lionel Messi has more in that time (16).
Playing in a more defensive role compared to his previous outings in Qatar, Ivan completed the full 90 minutes and subsequently collected a bronze medal along with his international team-mates to mark Croatia’s third place finish.
The showpiece final takes place on Sunday afternoon (3pm UK time) as Hugo Lloris’ France defend their title against Cristian Romero’s Argentina.
