1 from 30 | Spurs v Bournemouth
Our latest look back at a classic game from 30 years of the Premier League is a dominant display against Bournemouth at White Hart Lane in April, 2017.
Welcome back to our special feature for 2022/23 - 1 from 30 - as we continue to mark 30 years of the Premier League.
English football's new dawn kicked-off on the weekend of 15/16 August, 1992 as the FA Premier League replaced Barclays League Division One, ending a structure of Division One-Four that had been in place since 1958. Thirty years on, the Premier League is amongst the most watched and most valuable sporting leagues in the world.
In this series, we're featuring a match from those 30 years that corresponds with our forthcoming fixture - next up, it's AFC Bournemouth at home, and we turn the clock back to April, 2017 and winning in style in one of the last matches at the Lane...
Spurs 4-0 AFC Bournemouth - 15 April, 2017
This was the third-last game at the Lane and a dominant performance against AFC Bournemouth.
Two quickfire goals from Mousa Dembele and Heung-Min Son put us in the driving seat by half-time, Harry Kane and Vincent Janssen finished it off after the break.
Mousa struck from Christian Eriksen's corner, his first goal since January, 2016, Sonny from Harry's clever backheel, Harry held off Simon Francis for 3-0, bringing up 20 in the Premier League for the third-successive season, only the fourth player to do achieve that feat in the competition after Alan Shearer, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Thierry Henry. Janssen's goal was his first in open play in the Premier League.
It all added up to a seventh-successive win in the Premier League, a run that would reach nine, our best in the Premier League era, and second only to the double team's 13 in 1960/61. We would also win our last two matches at the Lane against Arsenal and Manchester United to complete the final season unbeaten at our famous old stadium.
Thirteen wins in our last 14 matches secured second place behind Chelsea with a Club record 86 points.
Spurs: Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies, Dier, Dembele, Eriksen (Janssen), Dele (Sissoko), Son, Kane (Wanyama).
