Ange and Sonny on our fans: “This is why we do it”
Ange Postecoglou and Heung-Min Son pointed to the impact of our travelling support after the 5-2 win at Burnley.
Fans snapped up our 2,305 allocation and mostly made the long trek to Lancashire by car with train services disrupted. They then witnessed a fine display in the sun at Turf Moor as we came from behind to run out deserved winners, led by skipper Heung-Min Son’s hat-trick, backed up by beautiful strikes from vice-captains Cuti Romero and James Maddison.
It led to some wonderful post-match scenes between Ange, the squad and the fans - caught by our Matchday Uncut feature, below – and no doubt a happy, long trip home...

“They were brilliant,” Ange said of the fans on the Review Show on SPURSPLAY. “It’s why we do it. This is their club, we come through and represent it, hopefully give them some good days, like today.
“That’s what it’s all about. It’s a long trip here and they get the reward of talking about the day they saw their team score five goals. That’s why you do it and our hope is to keep giving them days like this.”
The Review Show | Burnley vs Spurs
Also speaking on the Review Show afterwards, Sonny told us that he could feel the fans ‘from minute one’.
“I’m so grateful... even though we went 1-0 down they were behind us, supporting us amazingly. We’re travelling a lot... even the players are a bit tired! They came all the way here to support us amazingly like they did today, the players feel this, and we take more responsibility to make them happy - like today - great performance, make the fans happy, that’s what we’re looking for in the future.”
