Quartet up for monthly WSL awards

Our impressive start to the new Women’s Super League season has been recognised with Head Coach Robert Vilahamn and three of our players nominated for the league’s first round of monthly awards, covering October.

After guiding us to three wins from our first four matches, plus an additional victory in the Conti Cup, Robert has been shortlisted for Manager of the Month.

Striker Martha Thomas, meanwhile, has been nominated for Player of the Month, having scored in each of her first five games in our colours since joining over the summer, and bagged our first ever WSL hat-trick last time out in the 4-2 win at Aston Villa to establish herself as the league’s top scorer.

Martha’s fine first goal in that match, plus Grace Clinton’s thunderbolt in our 3-1 victory at Brighton and Eveliina Summanen’s similarly long-range effort in our home win over Bristol City by the same scoreline, has been shortlisted for Goal of the Month.
