It has been an action-packed start to Amanda Nildén’s career in Lilywhite, but the defender has been thriving on the opportunities so far.
Despite having joined in the latter stages of the January transfer window, the 25-year-old Sweden international has started our last five games in all competitions, including two in the Barclays Women’s Super League, and has played the full 90 minutes in the previous four fixtures.
She has been part of the defence that has only conceded four goals in the last five, with Robert Vilahamn highlighting the improvement in our defensive displays in recent performances, and Amanda praised her fellow teammates for helping her settle in at Hotspur Way.
Speaking in an exclusive interview for the matchday programme ahead of Aston Villa, she said: “I’m always happy with playing and it has been straight into the action, but I feel like I have fitted in quite well and I think my style of football suits the team, so that has been good and I’m looking forward to building on that.
“It has gone surprisingly well on how I have settled in with the whole backline after just a few training sessions together, but it just feels so comfortable playing alongside them. They have helped me a lot and been very supportive, so that has made it easy for me to come straight in.
“I’m actually quite surprised at how quickly I have adapted to life here, but I think that is because of the group of players as they have made everything so easy, so I’m very thankful of that.”
