Micky van de Ven has claimed the HSBC Player of the Match award after his impressive showing in both attack and defence in Sunday's 3-0 win over Manchester United.
Our Supporters' Player of the Year in his debut campaign last term, our number 37 came top of our Player of the Match poll hosted exclusively on our Official App to claim his first such award of the season.
Commanding at the back and devastating in the transition, Micky was everywhere we needed him to be at Old Trafford as we claimed our first win over United on their turf since October, 2021.
The Dutchman's influence on the game was immediate as, on three minutes, he producing a mesmerising marauding run to thrust the ball 70 yards up field and into the Manchester United box before producing the perfect cross for Brennan Johnson to bag his fourth in as many games.
Having practically forced the advantage, the defender was then nigh-on perfect at the back as his partnership with Cristian Romero continues to blossom at the heart of our backline.
The duo combined to control possession in the game - 19.4 per cent of the ball's total possession belonging to them. The Netherlands international touched the ball on 97 occasions and enjoyed a 97 per cent pass completion rate with him only misplacing three of his 91 attempted passes.
He also was not dribbled past in the game, nor did he make an error or was he dispossessed.
Watch - Micky's phenomenal run and assist for our opener
