Sheffield United provide our final opposition of the 2023/24 Premier League season - here's a closer look at the men from Bramall Lane...
Form
United have gone 13 matches without a win - their last at Luton on 10 February - and are on a run of six successive losses, including their last two at Bramall Lane against Burnley and Nottingham Forest. Two of their three wins this term have been at home - Wolves and Brentford - and they showed what they can do by out-shooting in-form Chelsea in a 2-2 draw at the start of April. It has been tough though - one clean sheet, 101 goals conceded and 27 defeats in 37 matches the bare facts.
Players to watch
Sheffield-born Ollie Arblaster has made quite an impression in the latter part of the campaign. Just 20, the midfielder was recalled from his loan at Port Vale, made his debut in the Premier League in March and has been a regular since - even captaining the side at Old Trafford. He's been named the team's Player of the Month in March and April. Gustavo Hamer joined from Coventry City at the start of the season and has featured in 35 of United's 37 games, scoring four goals. He's renowned from his long-range shooting - 36.8 per cent of his 19 Championship goals for the Sky Blues came from outside the box. Jack Robinson is the skipper and central of Chris Wilder's back three last time out against Everton. Auston Trusty, signed from Arsenal, is also in that back three and behind them, goalkeeper Wes Foderingham is in the Premier League's top five for saves this season. Ben Brereton Diaz is the main threat up front with six goals in his 13 matches since joining on loan from Villareal in January.
Manager - Chris Wilder
A full-back in a 15-year playing career at the likes of Sheffield United, Rotherham, Notts County, Bradford City, Brighton and Halifax, Wilder began his managerial career at Alfreton before moving to Halifax, Oxford and Northampton. He took over at Sheffield United in May, 2016 and led them to the Premier League for 2019/20, his two promotions in three seasons earning the LMA Manager of the Year for 2019. After spells at Middlesbrough and Watford, he returned to Bramall Lane following Paul Heckingbottom's departure in December.
Last time we met
One of the highlights of our season, we came from behind to beat the Blades 2-1 thanks to a late, late show back in September. Gustavo Hamer gave the Blades the lead on 73 minutes and it looked like they weren't going to crack under our constant pressure - we ended up with 28 efforts at goal - but we finally got there with two goals right at the end of added time - Richarlison's header on 90+8, Deki Kulusevski's screamer on 90+10, prompting joyous scenes in N17!
