Amanda Nildén is relishing the opportunity in her second spell in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

It has certainly been an action-packed start for the 25-year-old Sweden international after making the move to Lilywhite in the January transfer window, starting in the last six games in all competitions, including three in the WSL, and it’s fair to say the defender hasn’t looked out of place.

However, this has't been Amanda's first experience of playing in England, where she joined Brighton & Hove Albion in January, 2018, and spent two-and-a-half years at the Seagulls - making 15 appearances in the WSL.

Speaking in the matchday programme ahead of our clash with Aston Villa, the defender admitted it was always an ambitions of hers to play in England and praised her teammates for how quickly she has settled in at Hotspur Way.

I always had goals when I was younger and one of those was to play in England and I’m here, so I’m living my dream right now.

“I always had goals when I was younger and one of those was to play in England and I’m here, so I’m living my dream right now,” Amanda said as she beamed with a smile.

“I have settled in really well and I have enjoyed my time at the Club so far. It’s a very nice group of players and staff and a brilliant Club to represent, I’m very happy to be here.”

“I’m actually quite surprised at how quickly I have adapted to life here, but I think that is because of the group of players as they have made everything so easy and I’m very thankful of that.”

“It has also been good having Matilda [Vinberg] here. She’s also new but it does help a lot to have someone familiar and with the language, feeling a little bit like home and some of the other players can also speak the same language like Olga [Ahtinen] and Celin [Bizet]. So, of course, that has been really helpful.”

Amanda received her latest call-up to the Sweden national side last week and could feature in their two-legged UEFA Women’s Nations League games against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the 25-year-old is always excited to represent her country.

“You are always happy when you get the call-up and we have some very important fixtures coming up, so I’m more focused about that and trying to help the team to win those games.

“But, I’m always very happy to have been selected and it’s always a proud moment to wear the Sweden shirt. I’m looking forward to putting that on once again.”
