Local students meet their heroes at Hotspur Way

Wed 10 May 2023, 17:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Students from across our local community were treated to a once in a lifetime experience today (Wednesday 10 May) when they got the chance to meet and watch our Men’s First Team players train.

Thanks to cinch, the Club’s official sleeve partner, students from Duke’s Aldridge Academy and The Vale School, which offers education for pupils with a wide range of special educational needs, were able to meet the whole Men’s First Team squad and watch them take part in their morning training session.

Today’s special treat forms part of the wider work delivered by the Club and its Foundation to create life-changing opportunities and experiences for young people across its community.

Tottenham Hotspur Foundation regularly runs football tournaments with The Vale School as part of the ‘Making Sport a Daily Habit’ programme, which is designed to encourage people who are not usually active to incorporate exercise into their daily routine.

The Foundation also delivers Next Generation Girls football sessions at Duke’s Aldridge Academy every Thursday, which aims to inspire and encourage girls aged 12-17 years old to stay active and play football in a fun and friendly environment.

One of the students from Duke’s Aldridge Academy commented: "As someone who loves football, today was an absolute dream come true. Being able to see where the players train, then have the chance to meet them and watch them during their session was just incredible."
