Dane Scarlett picked up an assist as England Under-20s beat Germany 2-0 in a friendly at Manchester City's Academy Stadium on Wednesday.
Currently on loan at Portsmouth, Dane was joined in the starting line-up by Alfie Devine, and both played 70 minutes as the Young Lions continued preparations for the summer's World Cup. Dane set up the second goal for Sam Iling-Junior of Juventus, who struck twice. The pair now travel to Marbella for matches against USA on Saturday and France on Tuesday.
Academy youngster George Abbott celebrated his first cap and started as England Under-18s came from behind to beat Croatia in a friendly. The hosts led before two goals in as many minutes from Leo Castledine (Chelsea) and Joel Ndala (City) turned it around. George played 61 minutes, goalkeeper Luca Gunter was an unused substitute.
In senior action, Troy Parrott, currently on loan at Preston, came off the bench in the second half to earn his 15th cap as Republic of Ireland beat Latvia 3-2 at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
