Final heartbreak for Tom and Spencer in ePL showpiece

It was a case of so close yet so far for our team at the 2022/23 finals as our representatives, Thomas Leese (PS5) and Spencer Ealing (Xbox), fell to Leeds United in the final.
Having secured their place in today's knockout stages following a highly-competitive group stage campaign on Saturday, our team excelled when it came to the all-or-nothing clashes on the second day of action before, unfortunately, falling at the last.
Beginning with a quarter-final clash with Aston Villa, we just edged through the tie with Tom winning his PlayStation 5 tie 3-2 after Spencer had drawn the Xbox Series X opener 1-1.

Through to the semi-finals, the boys then faced West Ham - and this was a much more one-sided affair.
First, Tom cruised home on the PlayStation 5, winning 5-2 in his leg of the tie. Spencer then also enjoyed a comfortable win, earning a 2-0 victory to see us triumph 7-2 on aggregate against the Irons.
No words.

That stunning victory in the final four earned the team a place in the grand final, and they were to face Leeds United. However, this time, it was to be anything but a walk in the park.
In the first leg of the tie, the game was almost put out of reach for us as Leeds stormed into a 3-0 lead. That gave us all to do in the second leg, but the comeback, for a moment, looked like it might be on when Tom pulled us a goal back on 44 minutes, however the Whites were back level in the tie six minutes into the second half, dealing something of a killer blow to our hopes as they restored their three-goal lead.
And it was with that they took victory in the grand final, but it was a valiant and commendable effort from both Tom and Spencer.
Well played, lads.
