Harry's record-equalling strike nominated for Premier League Goal of the Month

Thu 26 January 2023, 13:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane's 266th Spurs goal and the match-winning strike in our victory Fulham on Monday (23 January) has been shortlisted for the Premier League's Goal of the Month award for January.

The only goal of the at Craven Cottage as we edged the Whites 1-0, the effort was also an historic one for both us and Harry as he equalled Jimmy Greaves' long-standing record for Spurs goals (266).

Coming on the stroke of half-time, our number 10 picked up the ball from Heung-Min Son on the edge of the box but he still had it all to do with his back to the goal and a defensive line in the way. Yet, with just two touches, Harry found a way to evade the attentions of Fulham's Tim Ream and get half a yard of space before curling into the corner of the net, all without even looking at the target.

Incredibly, despite scoring almost 200 goals in the top flight, this is an award that 'H' has yet to get his hands on.

Also up for the award is Daniel Podence of Wolves, Solly March, Danny Welbeck and Kaoru Mitoma of Brighton, Crystal Palace's Michael Olise, Arsenal's Bukayo Saka and Manchester United's Marcus Rashford.

As always, fans can vote for their favourite goal. Voting is now open with the winner due to be announced on Friday 3 February.
