Team news ahead of City - Richarlison, Lucas back, Porro available

Fri 03 February 2023, 15:35|Tottenham Hotspur

Cristian Stellini has positive news on the squad front as we prepare to face Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday (4.30pm).

Richarlison and Lucas Moura have recovered from injury to train this week and will be joined in the squad by new signing Pedro Porro, who completed his move from Sporting CP on Tuesday.

Richy missed our FA Cup win at Preston on Saturday with a ‘small problem’, while Lucas was back in action after a tendon issue for our Under-21s last Friday, when he scored against Arsenal. He last featured for the first team off the bench against Leeds on 12 November.

Speaking to SPURSPLAY after training on Friday, Cristian explained: “Richarlison has trained all week. He had a small problem before the game against Preston, he recovered immediately, so he’s available for the next match. Lucas played a game for the Under-21s, and he’s back. He needs time to work, but he’s back.”

Asked in his pre-match press conference if Pedro was in contention to start, Cristian replied: “He could be, he played in a similar system (at Sporting) that we play, he’s available and we could use him.”
