Team news ahead of Sporting CP - Antonio’s update on Lucas

Lucas Moura is the only player set to miss our UEFA Champions League clash against Sporting Clube de Portugal in Lisbon on Tuesday evening (5.45pm).

The Brazil forward remains out with a tendon issue that has kept him sidelined since the third match of the season against Wolves on 20 August. Speaking at Sporting’s Jose Alvalade Stadium on Monday evening, Antonio Conte gave SPURSPLAY an update on Lucas’ fitness.

“Lucas is not available,” he told us. “His recovery is going well, but we will have to wait until after international break, and we will try to exploit that two weeks to bring him back to the best peak of form, then we will have him available for the squad.”

Asked about team news at his pre-match press conference, Antonio responded: “Only Lucas Moura is still out. His recovery is going well but I think we'll see him after the international break. The other players are all available.”

The international break follows Saturday's Premier League clash at home to Leicester City (5.30pm). Our next match after the break is at Arsenal on Saturday 1 October (12.30pm).
