Wed 19 October 2022, 11:15|Tottenham Hotspur

N17 Live presenter Ben Haines and Club commentator Rob Daly take a look at this evening's huge Premier League clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford (8.15pm).

Catch up with the pair again on our popular pre-match show on SPURSPLAY ahead of Sunday's clash against Newcastle at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - they are live from 3.25pm for the 4.30pm kick-off.

"Saturday's win against Everton, we had more chances, dominated possession and there were so many good performances. I think Rob commented afterwards that there wasn't a player with less than a 7/10 display, but it's worth highlighting a couple... the midfield was so good again, Perisic, Doherty, Hojbjerg, Bentancur. I thought Matt was Player of the Match, the way he was getting into those advanced areas, taking players on, his range of passing and he brought about the opening goal when he drifted in at the far post, making Pickford make a save, leading to Harry Kane's penalty. Looking ahead to United, I thought they were quite wasteful in front of goal in their goalless draw against Newcastle. On another day, they win that game two or three-nil, although Joelinton did have a chance at the other end. Tactically, it's interesting. It was such a blow for Richarlison to go off injured on Saturday, but when one door closes, another opens... Yves Bissouma took his chance and put himself in the frame for Old Trafford. On Saturday, that narrowed up Kane and Son and I was explaining to Rob after the game, there's a moment when Kane picks up the ball and Sonny doesn't even lift his head, he just starts bursting between the lines, telepathically knowing that Harry's going to find that pass. I'm excited to see if that's what Antonio goes with. Old Trafford... at the start of the season, everyone will talk about our record at Stamford Bridge, but that used to be the case at United, always so tough there, but I don't feel that anymore, not since the 3-2 win in 2012. It just feels like we've turned a corner, even though we lost 3-2 there last season, a bit of a bizarre game, that one, but I think it will be different this time around."

Rob Daly

"As Ben said, it was a good win against Everton. I think there were a lot of positives to take from the victory, even though it wasn't a flashy one, it was a conventional Premier League win and more of those will help the team finish high up the table. Again, we saw the attacking threat of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. That's five goal involvements in his last five home games - goals or assists - a brilliant record. There were three players I wanted to pick out - Cristian Romero, I felt that was his most convincing performance of the season, strong in the tackle, read the game well, good distribution, getting forward, brilliant from him. Matt Doherty in only his second Premier League start of the season, Harry Kane praised him on the N17 Live review show for doing such a great job, outstanding. Also, Yves Bissouma, that was his best cameo as a Spurs player so far. United... there is no doubt they are a work in progress under Erik ten Hag, he's trying to re-wire that team. They had great results against Liverpool, Leicester and Arsenal, but the the 6-3 loss to City was pretty exposing, and if they leave gaps like they did that day, I'm sure Spurs will punish them. Antony has been a good addition, I watched him playing for Ajax in the Eredivisie, and he's scored three goals in his first four Premier League appearances. Ronaldo, we all remember last season, an unbelievable individual performance. We don't know if he'll start, of course, but if he's on the pitch he's a massive threat. We know Richarlison won't play after his injury - Antonio Conte said on Monday that's it's not as serious a initially feared, so that's great news - it wouldn't surprise me if Antonio is tempted to play 3-5-2, and that's not just to do with the players available, but I'm sure it will help give control against a United side where central midfield is so important with Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen in there. United have been trying to hit teams in transition... how will they play this one? I'm not sure. If Spurs can come away with a win and come away with 26 points from 11 games, that is a statement start to the season. But, it will be difficult, especially with the Martinez/Varane partnership at centre-back, United are much better defensively."
