Internationals – Perisic instrumental in big win for Croatia

Sun 27 November 2022, 22:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Ivan Perisic provided two assists to help Croatia come back from an early goal down to beat Canada 4-1 at the World Cup on Sunday.

Once again starting in a left-sided attacking role, Ivan set up Andrej Kramaric to net a 36th-minute equaliser for his nation, cancelling out Alphonso Davies’ second-minute opener for Canada.

The same two players combined again for Croatia’s third goal on the 70-minute mark, Marko Livaja having put them ahead just before the break, with Lovro Majer wrapping up the scoring in stoppage time.

Ivan was substituted after 86 minutes.

The result in Al Rayyan eliminated Canada and sent Croatia to the top of Group F on goal difference, having tied Morocco on four points.

Ivan’s side face Belgium in their third and final group stage match on Thursday afternoon.

There are three games involving our players set to take place on Monday, with Heung-Min Son’s South Korea taking on Ghana in Group H (1pm UK), Richarlison and Brazil facing Switzerland in Group G (4pm UK) and Rodrigo Bentancur’s Uruguay up against Portugal in Group H (7pm UK).
