Internationals - Alfie grabs assist as England continue flying form at Under-19 Euros

Alfie Devine completed 90 minutes and provided the assist for England Under-19s’ goal as the Young Lions kept up their 100 per cent record at the European Under-19 Championship with a 1-0 victory over Israel in Slovakia on Saturday evening.

Pouncing on a loose clearance from Israel’s goalkeeper, Alfie quickly sent the ball forward once more for Liam Delap to convert inside six minutes of the team’s final fixture in Group B.

Already assured of a place in the semi-finals prior to the game, England held onto their lead to make it three wins from three and set up a last four clash with Italy on Tuesday.

Dane Scarlett was an unused substitute, having started both of England’s opening two matches.

Elsewhere, in women’s international action, Rosella Ayane played for Morocco in their goalless draw with Ivory Coast in Rabat on Thursday night.
