Spurs fan Matt Gay helped LA Rams lift the Super Bowl with a thrilling 23-20 victory over Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL showpiece overnight in Los Angeles.
Matt kicked three out of three - two touchdown conversions and a 41-yard field goal - as Rams, playing at home at their SoFi Stadium, came from 20-16 down in the final quarter, with Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp scoring the match-winning touchdown with 1.29 remaining. Matt kicked that extra point for 23-20 and Bengals couldn't come back again.
Matt married into a Spurs-supporting family - Millie, his wife, is from Kent - and had visited Tottenham Hotspur Stadium a couple of times before playing for former team Tampa Bay Buccaneers in only the second NFL game our stadium in October, 2019. He's also been a guest on our matchday show, N17 Live.
Congratulations, Matt!
