Ahead of the first of the 2021 NFL London Games this Sunday, which will see the New York Jets take on Atlanta Falcons at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Club Ambassador Ledley King was in attendance at an NFL Community Day held in Tottenham on Friday.

A total of 200 students from Duke’s Aldridge Academy – a secondary school located directly opposite Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – were joined by Ledley and community coaches from the NFL and put through their paces with a series of NFL drills and skills.

The sessions were focused on teaching the students skills based on NFL team positions such as wide receivers, running backs and quarterbacks.

The students were also visited by special guests including mascot Freddie Falcon and the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders, who taught the students one of their dance routines that will be seen on Sunday.

After the sessions, the students also had the opportunity to ask Ledley some questions of their own including his score predictions for this weekend’s game and what position he would have played in the NFL.

Speaking after the sessions, Ledley said: “It was fantastic to join the students today at the NFL Community Event. With the first of the 2021 NFL London Games taking place this Sunday, it’s a really exciting time to be in Tottenham. It was great for the students to have the chance to learn some new skills and to see how the NFL is working with our local community while the London Games take place.”

One of the students commented: “Today was a lot of fun and it was great to learn more about the NFL. The coaches were really encouraging and it was great to play a different sport. Having Ledley there made the day even more special and he really helped to motivate us. The cheerleaders were also a great surprise!”
