Kane and Lamela shortlisted for seasonal Premier League awards

Tue 01 June 2021, 13:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane and Erik Lamela have been nominated for two of the Premier League’s seasonal awards.

Front man Harry has been shortlisted for EA SPORTS Player of the Season 2020/21 after enjoying an incredible campaign in our colours.

Finishing the season with 37 goal involvements in the competition, scoring 23 goals and providing 14 assists, our number 10 surpassed his previous best term of 36 goal contributions (2016/17) while he also became just the second player in the history of the league to finish top of both the goals and assists charts to claim both the Golden Boot and Playmaker awards.

Seven other players join the England international in the running for the seasonal prize including Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United, Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah, Tomas Soucek of West Ham United, Manchester City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Ruben Dias as well as his fellow countrymen Mason Mount of Chelsea and Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.

Argentine Erik, meanwhile, is up for Budweiser Goal of the Season 2020/21 after his stunning ‘rabona’ effort against Arsenal back in March.

We all knew the midfielder had the spectacular skill in his locker having previously executed it to perfection against Asteras Tripolis back in October, 2014, however, to do it again, and on our rivals' turf, left us all watching in utter disbelief once more at what we had just witnessed. Our number 11’s strike was later awarded March’s Budweiser Goal of the Month and has since gone on to claim the Goal of the Season prize from the BBC’s Match of the Day, at the London Football Awards and our Club awards, voted for by Spurs supporters.

Erik will now be up against James Maddison (for Leicester at Manchester City), Manuel Lanzini (for West Ham against us), Ola Aina (for Fulham against West Brom), Sebastien Haller (for West Ham against Crystal Palace), Mohamed Salah (for Liverpool at West Ham), Bruno Fernandes (for Manchester United against Everton), Jesse Lingard (for West Ham at Wolves) and Edinson Cavani (for Manchester United against Fulham) for the Premier’s League’s seasonal prize.

As usual, fan votes will help to decide the winners - cast your votes via the links below to give your backing to Harry and Erik in their respective categories. Voting closes at 6pm UK on Thursday (3 June).
