Heung-Min Son captained South Korea as they secured a 5-0 home win over Turkmenistan in qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Saturday.

The forward completed the full 90 minutes in Goyang, with South Korea scoring twice before the break and three times in the second half to wrap up a resounding victory.

Ben Davies also captained his country on Saturday, leading Wales out as they continued their preparations for Euro 2020 with a friendly against Albania in Cardiff.

With regular skipper Gareth Bale on the bench, Ben assumed duties with the armband in what turned out to be a goalless draw.

Ben was substituted for Club colleague Joe Rodon on 61 minutes, with Gareth also introduced into the action 10 minutes later.

Friday’s action yielded a clean sheet for Davinson Sanchez, the defender putting in a full shift for Colombia in their 3-0 victory away to Peru in World Cup qualifying in the early hours of the morning, while Juan Foyth completed 81 minutes of Argentina’s 1-1 home draw with Chile in the same competition.

Academy defender Maksim Paskotsi was an unused substitute for Estonia as they won 1-0 in a friendly in Finland, with young midfielder Elliot Thorpe also unused on the bench for Wales Under-21s in their goalless home draw with Moldova in European Under-21 Championship qualifying.
