Wales took a huge step towards the knockout stages of Euro 2020 with a thrilling 2-0 win against Turkey on Wednesday evening.

Skipper Gareth Bale (94 caps), Ben Davies (62) and Joe Rodon (16) all started again as Wales followed up their opening draw against Switzerland with a crucial win in Azerbaijan.

All three played a full shift as goals from Aaron Ramsey just before half-time and Connor Roberts deep into added time saw The Dragons home at the Olympic Stadium in Baku. Gareth claimed assists for both goals, and was later named 'Star of the Match'.

Victory takes Wales onto four points, so a draw in their final match against Italy will put progress beyond doubt. However, Switzerland will have to turn around a five-goal deficit in terms of goal difference to leapfrog Wales if they lose in Rome. Even in the event of that unlikely scenario, Wales would still have a chance of making it into the last 16 as a best third-placed team - four third-placed teams will make it through with group winners and runners-up.

Group A concludes at 5pm on Sunday with Wales taking on Italy in Rome's Olympic Stadium and Switzerland against Turkey in Baku.
