Internationals - clean sheet for Shelina

Tue 15 June 2021, 14:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Shelina Zadorsky was ever-present at the back as Canada held Brazil to a 0-0 goalless draw in Spain on Monday night.

The Spurs Women captain completed the full 90 minutes and helped her country to register their fourth consecutive clean sheet following their 0-0 draw with Czech Republic last Friday.

Canada looked the more threatening of the two sides and it was Shelina, earning her 72nd cap, who came closest to breaking the deadlock in the 85th minute at the Cartagonova Stadium.

The defender rose highest to meet Adriana Leon’s corner and struck the post with a towering header.

It was the last opportunity for Head Coach Bev Priestman to assess her players before she names her 18-player Olympic roster ahead of the games in Tokyo next month.

Goalkeeper Becky Spencer was named on the bench for Jamaica in their 4-0 defeat to reigning FIFA Women’s World Cup champions, USA.

Elsewhere, Rosella Ayane was an unused substitute in Morocco’s 3-2 victory over Mali at the Moulay Hassan Complex in Rabat.
