Club legend Gary Mabbutt recently attended the opening of a local business, The Nail Group, a vibrant nail salon facility in the heart of Tottenham.

Susan Nguyen established The Nail Group in 2016 and offers quality nail care services to the community. Last year, Susan’s plans to open a new luxury architect-designed salon were put on hold due to the onset of the pandemic and like many others, her business was hit hard.

After two years, the new salon is now ready and Gary Mabbutt, alongside The Mayor of Haringey, attended the grand opening for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. At the opening, club ambassador Gary gave a speech to guests on the importance of community and how the Club continues to show support to local businesses in their recovery from the pandemic.

After the speeches, guests were given a tour of the new salon and were able to see the state-of-the-art facilities on offer.

The Club is committed to creating a sport and leisure destination in Tottenham, with its stadium home to a range of major events – including concerts, NFL, rugby and boxing – alongside Tottenham Hotspur football matches, helping increase the number of visitors to the area and drive local spending.

Speaking at the opening, Gary said: “Like many businesses, Susan and The Nail Group had to close during the pandemic so it’s incredible to see them expanding after such a challenging time. Susan is a brilliant entrepreneur and is clearly very passionate about the nail care business and the community. The Club is proud to support local businesses in their recovery from the pandemic and hopefully, when large scale events return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, we will see the economic benefits these will bring to the area.”

Susan Nguyen, Managing Director, said: “As a long-standing small business based in Tottenham, we have always encouraged our community to support local, small businesses. We have found it extremely challenging to stay afloat during the pandemic, but it has also compelled us to persevere with our project, which has been two years in the making. We are very excited about our new salon and we are very grateful to the immense support shown by the local community, including Tottenham Hotspur.”
