#SpursPreSeason - Global Football Development deliver session at London Korean School
Fri 23 July 2021, 09:30|Tottenham Hotspur
Our domestic pre-season programme continued on Thursday when our Global Football Development team delivered a coaching session at a Korean Language School in Surrey.
Replicating our great community initiatives on overseas summer tours, our Global team provided an insight into the Tottenham Hotspur coaching philosophy, this time to 50 students from the London Korean School in Chessington.
The visit was inspired by our South Korean internationals Heung-Min Son and So-hyun Cho, with Global Football Development Coach Ryan Blackman leading the session attended by children of Korean families based in the UK. The students were later thrilled to receive a special video message from Sonny, who also sent signed Spurs goodies to the school.
Danny Mitchell, Football Development Manager said “It has been fantastic to have Son connect with the players to inspire these young players with their development. Our Global Football Development programmes have a proven track record of developing players from grassroots to an elite level across the world and our coaches strive to support the development of all individuals at all levels of the game. Whether this is a young player starting out, or someone with aspirations of reaching the elite level, we hope we can provide a positive and memorable experience to help them on their journey. It’s equally a fantastic experience for our staff to connect with different cultures and nationalities in order to share our key messages with young players across the world.”
Our Global Football Development coaches deliver world-class technical programmes using methods inspired from the Club’s Academy. Alongside our programmes on the grass our staff also deliver a range of educational talks, workshops, and exercise classes around the world with the aim to keep children physically active and promote a positive mental wellbeing.
