Loan round-up – Parrott on target again for Dons

Wed 18 August 2021, 07:41|Tottenham Hotspur

On-loan striker Troy Parrott scored for the second game in a row and then set up the winner as MK Dons came back from a goal down to register their first victory of the season against Charlton Athletic in League One on Tuesday night.

With his side having fallen behind to Jayden Stockley’s opener on the quarter-of-an-hour mark at Stadium MK, Troy equalised three minutes later when he was played through one-on-one with the goalkeeper and coolly slotted home.

The Republic of Ireland international later scrambled the ball through for Mo Eisa to make it 2-1 in the second half.

Troy had opened his Dons goalscoring account on Saturday with a low left-footed effort from the edge of the box, but it wasn’t enough to prevent them from suffering a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Sunderland.

The 19-year-old completed the full 90 minutes in both games.

Elsewhere, fellow striker Kion Etete started for Northampton Town in their 1-0 victory at Colchester United in League Two on Saturday.

Kion saw an effort cleared off the line in first-half stoppage time before being substituted on 56 minutes.
