"We want to see a performance that we can be proud of" - Juan Amoros

Following the international break, Spurs Women return to action in the Continental League Cup this evening (Tuesday 3 November) with a visit to Chelsea at Kingsmeadow, 7pm kick-off.

Our first win of the season came against London City Lionesses in our opening game of the 2020/21 Conti Cup in Group B – goals from Ria Percival, Alanna Kennedy, Rosella Ayane and Angela Addison sealed an emphatic win at The Hive last month.

Holders of the Cup Chelsea, who are unbeaten in all competitions so far this season, started their defence of the trophy last month with a 4-1 victory against Arsenal at Kingsmeadow.

In their last run out, the Blues defeated Manchester City 3-1 at home in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League, while we are looking to bounce back from last month’s heavy league defeat at Meadow Park against Arsenal.

Head coach Karen Hills will be absent from tonight’s fixture as she is currently self-isolating, after recently coming into contact with someone who has subsequently tested positive for COVID-19.

On facing Chelsea, head coach Juan Amoros said: “We want to see a performance that we can be proud of tonight, that is consistent and solid throughout the 90 minutes. If we are able to do that with the highest standards we have, we will be able to get a positive result. I think the international break gave us some time to work on certain aspects and build on fitness and it’s been positive for us and hopefully that will give us an extra push because everyone is raring to go.”

The match will be streamed live on the hosts' Facebook page and their YouTube channel.
