Internationals - Hugo and Moussa help France to victory

Tue 17 November 2020, 23:05|Tottenham Hotspur

Hugo Lloris and Moussa Sissoko both completed 90 minutes for France as they saw off Sweden 4-2 in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday night.

Hosts France had already qualified for one of the four available spots at next year’s tournament finals, but roared back after falling behind early on to claim victory.

Spain joined Les Bleus in the finals after humbling Germany 6-0 in Seville, but Sergio Reguilon wasn’t in the matchday squad.

Unfortunately for Davinson Sanchez, Colombia were also hit for six away to Ecuador in South American qualifying for the FIFA World Cup. Davinson played the full game but saw the hosts run out 6-1 winners.

Earlier on Thursday, Serge Aurier captained Ivory Coast as they drew 1-1 in Madagascar in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying, while Heung-Min Son was once again South Korea’s skipper in their 2-1 friendly win over Qatar in Austria, Sonny supplying the assist for his nation’s winning goal in the 36th minute. The forward completed the full match.

Meanwhile, on-loan Oliver Skipp started and played 76 minutes for England Under-21s, providing the assist for their third goal in a 5-0 routing of Albania at Molineux that saw the Young Lions complete their European Under-21 Championship qualifying campaign unbeaten. Goalkeeper Brandon Austin was an unused substitute for the hosts.
