Japhet urges fans to stay home and save lives in new Premier League video

Sun 29 March 2020, 18:33|Tottenham Hotspur

Japhet Tanganga has joined players from across the Premier League to appear in a new video, encouraging fans to stay at home and save lives in response to the Coronavirus pandemic.

With the football season currently suspended, players from all 20 top-flight clubs have recorded a message from their own homes, urging fans to support each other, stay at home and help slow the spread of the virus in the ‘We Are One Team’ video.

It was released today at 4.30pm – a well-known Sunday-afternoon kick-off slot for Premier League games.

Academy graduate Japhet, who made his top-flight debut against Liverpool in January and has been a regular for us in defence since, is joined in the video by Nathan Ake (AFC Bournemouth), Emiliano Martinez (Arsenal), Tyrone Mings (Aston Villa), Glenn Murray (Brighton & Hove Albion), Ashley Westwood (Burnley), Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea), Luka Milivojevic (Crystal Palace), Fabian Delph (Everton), Wes Morgan (Leicester City), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Benjamin Mendy (Manchester City), Harry Maguire (Manchester United), Jamaal Lascelles (Newcastle United), Teemu Pukki (Norwich City), Oliver Norwood (Sheffield United), Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (Southampton), Danny Welbeck (Watford), Lukasz Fabianski (West Ham United) and Conor Coady (Wolverhampton Wanderers).

The Club and its players have already been voicing our thanks to healthcare workers and helped promote important public health messaging as the country continues to battle the Coronavirus pandemic.

On Thursday, we proudly illuminated Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in blue colours as part of a nationwide show of support for the NHS, while first team players joined people across the country in a mass round of applause for those that are currently on the front line of the COVID-19 battle as part of the #ClapForOurCarers campaign. Players again reinforced the need to help the NHS on Saturday at 3pm by posting messages on social media urging fans to #StayHomeSaveLives.
