Together We Are Stronger – Club supports Black Lives Matter

Wed 17 June 2020, 13:30|Tottenham Hotspur

Ahead of Friday night’s season re-opener against Manchester United, our players will warm up in t-shirts supporting the Black Lives Matter campaign.

The t-shirts are emblazoned with a clear message – Together We Are Stronger.

Tottenham Hotspur stands firmly against racism, discrimination and hatred of any kind. Equality and inclusion is at the heart of everything we do as a Club.

We are proud of the rich ethnic diversity that exists within our local communities, amongst our global fanbase, our staff and the players from all countries and backgrounds who have represented our Club over the years.

The scenes we have witnessed in recent weeks have hurt us all – with the return of the Premier League, it is now down to football to use its platform to make a stand.

In addition to our warm-up t-shirts, players from across the Premier League have collectively decided that the words ‘Black Lives Matter’ will replace their names on the back of match shirts for the first 12 matches of the restarted season.

A Black Lives Matter logo will also feature on match shirts for the remainder of the season, along with a badge thanking the NHS for its work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
