Team news
Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is hopeful that he will be boosted by the return of defender Djibril Sidibe for our meeting on Monday, with the Frenchman having recovered from a foot injury that had kept him out of the Toffees' first three games following the season's restart.
Forward Richarlison is also expected to be available for the Blues after he suffered a knock in his side’s 2-1 win over Leicester, but the game will come too soon for Theo Walcott and Fabian Delph, who both remain sidelined.
Everton’s form
The Blues have gone from strength to strength since June’s Premier League resumption as they remain unbeaten after three games. Returning to action with the visit of now-champions Liverpool, the Toffees held out for an encouraging 0-0 draw with their Merseyside rivals in their first outing and followed that up with back-to-back victories – a 1-0 triumph over Norwich before a 2-1 victory over Leicester.
One to watch
A key reason behind Everton’s bright from since the restart has been the performance of their defence, with just one goal conceded in their 270 minutes of football so far. It is a rearguard that has remained constant and unchanged in those games – a back four of Seamus Coleman, Michael Keane, Mason Holgate and Lucas Digne – but it has been the showings of the resilient Keane which have left the greatest impression. An arrival from Burnley in the summer of 2017, the defender made 12 clearances alone in the Toffees' last outing - their 2-1 win over Leicester on Wednesday – the most in a single game by any player in the league this season. His efforts earned him the man of the match award. A week earlier, he scored the winner and helped his side keep a clean sheet as they triumphed 1-0 over Norwich.

Played for both
Despite spending just over a year with us, Richard Gough certainly made his mark in his time at White Hart Lane.
A signing from Dundee United in August, 1986, Richard was with us for just 14 months before leaving for Rangers yet, during his spell in north London, he played what he describes as the best football of his career. That 1986/87 season may have been a campaign of ‘so near, yet so far’ as we as we finished third in the old Division One, were FA Cup runners-up and reached the League Cup semi-finals but we played some of our most exciting football that term, and that was all based on a solid foundation in our backline with the central partnership of Richard and Gary Mabbutt. Goughie’s impressive impact even saw him take on captaincy duties mid-way through that season before he moved on to pastures new, having spells at Rangers, Kansas City Wizards, San Jose Clash, Nottingham Forest and Everton.
Catching up with the centre-back in the summer of 2018 on our pre-season tour of the United States, where he now lives having finished his career in the MLS, Richard declared: “I hold Tottenham very close to my heart and always look for their results. I have great respect for the club.”
